Overview
This is another bold step for Arctic Monkeys, evolving into slick, nocturnal territory and blending their signature sharp lyricism with a more groove-driven sound. The album oozes swagger, built on hypnotic riffs, brooding basslines, and a confident, almost cinematic atmosphere. Alex Turner’s vocals drip with charm, effortlessly carrying the album’s themes of indulgence and longing. It’s potentially the band’s most polished record yet still retains their raw edge, making for an album that feels both modern and timeless. While it leans heavily into mood and style, ‘AM’ never loses its bite, cementing itself as one of the band’s most compelling reinventions. Absolutely a modern classic.
Recommended for Indie kids who finally think they’re cool.

It’s so simple, but instantly recognisable and iconic. The frequency waves forming into the letters ‘AM’ were a genius idea - minimalism is apparently the most popular art form in modern times, and while it doesn’t always work, it certainly does here.
