Overview
’Sweet Sour’ is a confident evolution from the band’s debut, with Band of Skulls fine-tuning their signature Bluesy, riff-heavy Rock sound. The album strikes a perfect balance between raw, fuzz-drenched guitar work and moments of melodic introspection, showcasing the trio’s knack for dynamic shifts. Marsden and Richardson’s perfect dual vocals create a compelling push-and-pull tension that enhances the record’s moody atmosphere, while the rhythm section remains absolutely tight. It’s a clear refinement compared to their debut - full of swagger yet punctuated by softer, more contemplative passages. ‘Sweet Sour’ isn’t a reinvention of their formula, but it solidifies the band’s ability to craft a fantastic album.
Recommended for Blue Rock lovers looking for a heavier sound.

Not entirely sure what this image is - it could be paint thrown into the air, mirrored to create the appearance of some weird monster. But I kind of like it - symmetry always looks good.
