Overview
‘Abbey Road’ finds The Beatles striking the perfect balance between their Psychedelic curiosity and the Pop songwriting that made them so special. Some of their best, most immediately enjoyable music is here, with gorgeous harmonies, memorable melodies and enough unexpected turns to keep things interesting. Everyone shines: Lennon brings the energy, McCartney’s bass is full of character, Harrison’s songwriting is exceptional, and Ringo knows exactly what each arrangement needs. The medley across much of the second half is particularly brilliant, giving short fragments the sweep and emotional payoff of something much larger. Working with George Martin, they brought their adventurous instincts back to the foundations of great songs and playing together. The result is arguably their best record. From the music to the studio and that instantly recognisable artwork, everything about it feels iconic. Proof that even after all the experimentation, your roots still matter.
Recommended for lifelong Beatles fans, complete newcomers and everyone in between.

There’s probably not a single person on earth that doesn’t recognise this album artwork - and all the band had to do was just walk across the road outside their recording studio. Iconic.
