THE BAKERY
Overview
Founded in 2007, The Bakery was the private recording studio and headquarters of Coldplay, located in Hampstead, North London. Converted from a former commercial bakery after the band's massive X&Y campaign, the facility served as an intimate creative home base for writing, rehearsing, and production. It birthed their landmark album Viva la Vida and combined standard recording setups with a relaxed, domestic atmosphere. It continued to serve as a crucial companion facility to their nearby studio, The Beehive, remaining a core piece of Coldplay’s London infrastructure for nearly two decades until its closure in 2024.
