E-LAND MIG STUDIOS
Overview
Operating at its location from 2007 to 2010, E-Land Mig Studios was the private, DIY recording bunker of rock band Kasabian, located inside a disused Victorian shoe factory in Earl Shilton, Leicestershire. Named after a local contraction of the town's name and an industrial MIG welder left on-site, the raw, unheated facility was intentionally chosen by the band to escape traditional commercial studio environments. The studio secures an iconic place in modern British rock folklore as the primary birthplace and tracking headquarters for Kasabian's masterpiece, the multi-platinum 2009 album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum. The band completely vacated the industrial space in 2010, leaving it as a legendary snapshot of their most creatively eccentric era.
