STUDIO 13
Overview
This private barn studio is the deeply sentimental countryside writing facility and creative sanctuary owned entirely by Britpop icon and Gorillaz mastermind Damon Albarn. Nestled within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the facility was built out of an old agricultural outbuilding and workshop shortly after Albarn acquired the estate in 1995. While his flagship multi-room records are engineered at Studio 13 in West London, the Kellaton room functions as his primary isolated environment for lyric writing, demo tracking, and solo acoustic arrangement. Known to many as the Studio 13 away from home, the space serves as a highly intimate retreat where Albarn works away from the clinical pressure of urban commercial spaces.
