THE MOTOR MUSEUM RECORDING STUDIO
Overview
The Motor Museum is widely considered one of the most historically significant and iconic commercial recording studios in the North of England. Built inside a converted Victorian bus garage, the facility was launched in 1988 by Hambi Haralambous as The Pink Museum. After being acquired and renamed by OMD’s Andy McCluskey in 1999, the studio became a legendary launchpad for era-defining British rock and indie acts. Designed with unique Mediterranean architecture, it features a world-famous Philip Newell-designed stone live room optimised for tracking heavy, punchy acoustic drums. Today, the studio is owned and helmed by platinum-certified producer Al Groves, centred around an elite Solid State Logic (SSL) Duality Delta 48-channel console.
