TRANSCONTINENTAL STUDIOS
Overview
Established in 1998 by music mogul Lou Pearlman under his Transcontinental entertainment empire, Transcontinental Studios was a major commercial recording and production complex located at 7566 Southland Boulevard, Suite 107, in Orlando, Florida, United States. Conceived as an in-house production base for Pearlman’s rapidly expanding roster of Pop acts, the operation developed from a modest Mackie-and-ADAT room into a 7,000-square-foot, three-room commercial facility. Its technical centrepiece was an 80-channel Solid State Logic 9000J console paired with a Quested 5.1 monitoring system, complemented by additional SSL- and Amek-equipped rooms, rehearsal spaces, and a dedicated remote-recording truck. Unfortunately, the collapse of Pearlman’s companies forced the facility into receivership in 2007 and was eventually acquired and rebranded as KDS Studios.
