Overview
A raw and raucous introduction to the chaos of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, ‘12 Bar Bruise’ is a Lo-Fi Garage Rock assault brimming with energy, distortion, and a reckless sense of fun. The album thrives on pace, driven by frenzied guitars, thumping rhythms, and a vocal delivery that was probably sung through a busted microphone - but it just works. While the production is deliberately rough around the edges, the sheer enthusiasm and urgency make for an electrifying listen. Beneath all the noise, there are glimpses of experimentation, but this album doesn’t come close to the wild sonic explorations the band would go on to offer throughout their career. Unapologetically wild and drenched in DIY spirit - this is the start of something great.
Recommended for psychy Garage Rock heads looking for the roots of a true Australian great.
