Overview
A bold departure from their debut album’s Psychedelic Rock sound, ‘Eyes Like the Sky’ is less an album and more a cinematic, Spoken-Word Western brought to life. Drenched in dusty, twangy guitar licks and rolling percussive rhythms, it truly makes you feel as if you’ve stepped into the vast, lawless landscapes of frontier America. The narration is commanding, weaving a tale of violence, survival, and outlaws, making the record feel like a lost audio novel set to a rugged, Garage Rock backdrop. It’s raw, atmospheric, and wholly unique - just as King Gizzard usually are. This won’t be to everyone’s taste, but it’s an audacious experiment, inviting listeners on a journey into a universe none alive have ever experienced before. A testament to their relentless creativity.
Recommended for anyone wanting to step into a dark old western universe for a brief 30 minutes.

A Spaghetti Western album deserves a Spaghetti Western-inspired piece of artwork - this cover is the perfect choice. Stu Mackenzie once said, “I love Western films. I love bad guys, and I love Red Dead Redemption. Oh, and I love evil guitars.” This cover perfectly matches that description.
