TELESTERION OCCIDENTAL

Overview
Established around 2008 by Progressive-Rock multi-instrumentalist Omar Rodríguez-López, Telesterion Occidental was a highly private home recording studio located within the artist’s residential compound in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. Created as a low-profile experimental workshop for Rodríguez-López and his close circle of collaborators, the space supported the intensely prolific recording period that followed his move from Los Angeles to Mexico. Sessions frequently employed the E-Clat Morgue Portable Disaster Unit, a mobile recording system that allowed projects to be captured both inside the home studio and at temporary locations beyond conventional commercial facilities. Functioning as an artist-controlled environment for writing, overdubbing, and improvisational performance, the Zapopan studio hosted recordings spanning Progressive and Psychedelic Rock, Experimental Music, and Jazz-influenced improvisation.
