Overview
Founded in 2005, Quatermass Sound Lab is a legendary independent recording and production bunker hidden in Dalston, East London. Established by drummer, producer, and The Heliocentrics mastermind Malcolm Catto, the subterranean facility has earned an international reputation among audio purists for its uncompromising raw analogue ethos and hypnotic vintage aesthetics. Moving completely away from standard commercial rigidity, the creative enclave is stacked with historic Studer tape decks, vintage effects modules, and a rare Swedish broadcast mixing desk. Serving as a sacred hit laboratory for boundary-pushing global sounds rather than traditional indie-guitar tracks, the studio remains fully operational today.
